We recommend visiting the University of Concepción Campus to enjoy its amazing architecture, green areas, and lagoons. What you should know
How to get there by air
Carriel Sur International Airport (CCP) is the main terminal. It receives direct daily flights from Santiago (SCL) and connections from northern and southern Chile. Located in Talcahuano, it is just 15 minutes from downtown Concepción. The airport provides transfers, taxis, and car rental services to reach your destination comfortably and quickly.
How to get there by land
Reach Concepción from Santiago via Route 5 South, connecting with the Itata Highway or the Route of Wood (approx. 500 km). The city has the Collao Bus Terminal for nationwide arrivals. To travel to Hualpén or San Pedro, use frequent local bus services or the Biotrén train network for convenient and affordable urban mobility.
Climate and clothing
The climate is Mediterranean with oceanic influence. It is often humid and windy, especially near the coast. Dress in layers, include a waterproof jacket, and bring comfortable shoes for walking on campus or navigating natural forest trails and cliffs.
Must-Know Tips
