Conguillío National Park
Millennial araucarias and volcanic landscapes
Conguillío National Park showcases the imposing geological power of the Llaima Volcano across more than sixty thousand Andean hectares. Its legendary ancient monkey puzzle tree (araucaria) forests emerge amid vast fields of solidified volcanic lava and crater lakes such as Captrén and Arcoíris, creating an extraordinary landscape of contrasts.
Iconic trails like Sierra Nevada and Los Carpinteros invite travelers deep into the Andean woodlands to spot condors and Magellanic woodpeckers. Crowning the experience, the turquoise waters of Lake Conguillío welcome authorized paddle boating, cementing this mythical Araucanía destination as an unforgettable realm of volcanism, adventure, and living nature.
