Located in the foothills of Araucanía, the town of Curacautín offers a base for visiting the area's many hot springs, which include Malalcahuello, Manzanar and Tolhuaca.
Termas de Manzanar is just 17 km east of Curacautín and 104 km from Temuco. Relax in the center's rustic pool, soaking in the 48°C water while surrounded by lush scenic beauty. Be sure to visit the hotel, which was built in 1954 and has been kept in perfect condition.
At Centro Termal Malalcahuello, 27 km from Curacautín and 150 km from Temuco, you can relax in the hotel's luxury spa, which is fed by waters that have been declared curative by the Chilean Ministry of Health. Try swimming against the current in 37° to 38°C waters, or de-stress in the hydromassge pool before enjoying the boutique hotel's other ammenities.
Termas de Tolhuaca is 33 km north of Curacautín. Its mountain lodge is set between two steep hillsides and it is home to hot springs that emerge from the ground at 90°C. The water's high mineral content and medicinal properties make it especially good for treating rheumatism, muscular pain and respiratory problems. Observe the fumarole from the pool built just meters from the spring itself, which feeds into the pool at close to its original temperature. The heat and steam generated by the fumarole also provide hot water and heating for the hotel itself.
