Chile's safety, modern cities and highways, technology and economic stability make it the ideal meeting place for business travelers.

Santiago, Chile has been named the second best Latin American city for business, falling just behind São Paulo and ahead of such enormous cities as Mexico City and Buenos Aires.

Chile receives an estimated 20,000 business travelers per year, and the relatively new niche of business tourism has grown out of the conventions, seminars and business meetings that the country has hosted. While they are in the country, many event attendees take the opportunity to visit attractions like San Pedro de Atacama, the wine routes, Torres del Paine and Easter Island.

Thanks to its many hotels, Santiago is well-prepared for this kind of visitor. Highway access from the international airport makes it quick and easy to get to the city's hotels and convention centers.

The downtown area and modern business-centric El Golf neighborhood (nicknamed "Sanhattan" by locals) are home to international hotel chains that offer accommodations plus meeting rooms, event halls for seminars and conferences, and all the technology you'll need. Best of all, they are located in neighborhoods that offer great shopping and excellent restaurants.

The always tourist-friendly city of Viña del Mar has a wide variety of hotels with facilities appropriate for all kinds of events, and the traditional beach resort Zapallar is home to hotels with both business centers and golf courses.

In the southern part of the country - near Osorno, and with access to the international highway that leads to Argentina –, you'll find a prestigious hotel that offers facilities for business meetings along with magnificent natural scenery and a hot springs center.
